Water and Wastewater
INALUM promotes responsible water use and wastewater management to conserve water resources and protect the environment.
Preserving Water Resources
Water is essential to INALUM’s operations, both in office areas and at plant facilities. To safeguard this vital resource, INALUM implements water management policies and conservation measures to protect rivers, lakes, and springs from pollution and other disturbances that could compromise water quality and ecosystem health.
As part of its sustainability commitment, INALUM strives to reduce freshwater withdrawals from natural sources, optimize water recirculation, and ensure that water discharged back into the environment meets applicable quality standards.
| Water sources | 2025 | 2024 | 2023 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Surface Water | 1.376,56 | 1.488,90 | 1.448,80 |
| Total | 1.376,56 | 1.488,90 | 1.488,80 |
Managing Wastewater Safely for the Environment
INALUM’s wastewater originates from the emission control systems at the Anode Baking Plant. After treatment at the wastewater treatment plant, the effluent is discharged into the sea, the designated receiving water body, in accordance with applicable permits and environmental quality standards.
