Advancing the Transition to Clean and Renewable Energy
INALUM is committed to improving energy efficiency, optimizing the use of renewable energy, and conserving natural resources. The company holds ISO 50001:2018 certification for its Energy Management System, demonstrating alignment with internationally recognized energy management standards.
In 2019, INALUM received national recognition from Indonesia’s Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources for its energy management reporting and commitment to energy efficiency.
Renewable Energy Transition
Since its establishment, INALUM has relied on hydropower as a cornerstone of its aluminium smelting operations. Powered by the flow of the Asahan River, which connects Lake Toba to the surrounding landscape of North Sumatra, INALUM’s hydropower plants have long been a vital source of electricity for its production processes. Known as the Asahan River Project, this legacy reflects the company’s longstanding commitment to harnessing renewable energy to support industrial development.
